Lounges.tv is a start-up digital business with ambitions to disrupt the rapidly growing live streaming marketplace. Via an innovative platform, they connect anybody with talent to an unlimited audience who are ready to pay for unique entertainment.

 

the brief

Bruce were involved since the inception of this start-up. The founder, Scott is a long-term client and company friend. After hours brainstorming and exploration with Scott, we helped him take his idea through to a viable proof of concept and brand that was ready to go-to market. 

We helped with the name, created the brand, helped steer and craft a product that had a place in today's market and then fleshed out a full experience design for the platform. We’re currently working to support Lounges.tv through their fundraising and start-up stages. Craig, our creative founder, is also now Chief Product Officer at Lounges.tv.

a gap in the market

A user-driven strategy was applied not only at a product level, but at business level. We created strong brand positioning within the market, identifying where we fit, what we are and what we’re not. Personas were created for our content creators and audiences. We flagged focus content categories where Lounges.tv could excel and rolled that specific brief into a bespoke product to cement market position.

Lounges.tv is a pay-on-entry streaming platform, where anybody can create a lounge and go live. This could be a musician, a teacher, a personal trainer or anything. Audiences are constantly looking for something new across a wide range of genres, so this platform will offer a new avenue of entertainment. Lounges.tv will also empower creators with the reliable and powerful tools they need to stream and earn money. Creators are currently making do, with inadequate tools –  this platform will disrupt with a perfected experience.

the lounges.tv experience

Discovery & browse 

Tapping into existing mental models, we’ve created a discovery interface that enables browsing by category, type, price and date. Audiences can find events that are happening this weekend within a specific genre, or they can stumble across a last minute find going live within the next few minutes. The experience intelligently learns over time what the user is interested in and tailors recommendations throughout.

Genre-intelligent interactions

The experience is flexible enough to be used for any purpose, but it really shines within our target categories. We’ve created a bespoke interface based on the event being run, and we allow different audience/creator interactions. For example:

  • Music events encourage clapping, cheering, and audience participation

  • Fitness events encourage feedback on speeding up or slowing down, or asking for a water break

  • Comedy events encourage emojis, laughter and clapping

The platform will customise the interface so creators have all the information they need. For instance, a donation-only event may want to see a running total of their donations, whereas a paid event will want to see active attendees. Zoom, Teams or Hangouts are created as a jack of all trades, master of none, but these bespoke interactions will give Lounges.tv the edge in the market.

the finished result

Bruce’s journey with Lounges.tv is only just beginning. We’ll continue to help evolve the streaming platform going forwards, enhancing the user experience and empowering artists and creators to generate new forms of income.
